Our native plant containers are stylish and designed to last for years.
Choose a classic planter made of wood, or a metal container with a rich, earthy patina. We also offer a limited number of custom-painted designs on metal.
Wood
Our custom-built wooden containers offer a classic design that looks at home anywhere. The warm, caramel color and detailed corners and trim evoke the beauty and simplicity of Arts & Crafts furniture. Available in cedar or stained pressure-treated wood, this is a versatile and classic style.
Corten Steel
This beautiful metal naturally ages to produce a rustic patina that harmonizes well with our naturalistic garden designs. Metal containers work especially well in shady areas. Corten Steel containers are purchased directly from a manufacturer and come in a variety of sizes, depending on availability.
Custom-Painted Metal
A coat of paint or patina transforms durable and inexpensive steel metal troughs into something more personal to suit your individual space and personality. Available in a simple and sophisticated metallic bronze, or we can tailor your container to make it a custom work of art!
Other container options
We are happy to work with you to find the container design that is right for you. Sleek fiberglass containers come in a range of vibrant colors and sizes and lend a cool, chic look to an urban habitat. Fiberglass containers are purchased directly from a manufacturer, so size and supplies depend on availability. While metal and fiberglass containers are not as environmentally-friendly as wood, they may be the right option in certain settings. Contact us to learn more.
The scoop on our soil … it’s real!
Our custom soil mix is real. We strive to create a biologically rich media that drains well and approximates what plants would find in nature. Using real soil adds weight, so our custom-built wooden containers made of cedar and other rot-resistant woods have added support and are built to last. We don’t use peat or sphagnum moss in our gardens because peat moss bogs take millennia to develop and cannot be sustainably harvested. It’s also not a natural medium for the type of plants we use. Using real soil and perennial plants allows our gardens to grow—and keeping growing!—year after year.
